The first snow of Winter

Am I the only person who cheers when they see the first snow of winter? well we got ours today in the UK. OK so it was a light sprinkling but its here.I love how snowflakes can turn a bare canvas into a magickal creation. I love how everything looks bright and sparkly even the bare trees come alive.

I love to dress up snuggly in winter clothes set off walking with my camera and start snapping, then arrive home to a cup of hot soup nothing finer in life. I fear its here a little early for a white christmas but todays sprinkling has now got me in festive mode. Help now to start panicking.

Zurich by Night

I love Cities by night here's a few pics of Zurich by night.

My Zurich Trip

I just haven't had a minute to catch up with my blog since I got back from my trip to Zurich as straight away I headed off to London for the Worlds Tennis Finals which I will blog about later.

Zurich was an amazing City it was very beautiful and quaint and yet modern at the same time (if that makes any sense) I took hundreds of pics as I am a bit of a geeky tourist when I am let loose in a city I'll post them over a few days so not to bore anyone, I know theres nothing more boring than someone elses holiday pics lol, but heres a few of the City during the day.

This in an aerial shot of the city

I loved this Clock Tower apparantly it has the largest Clock Face in the world.

I love wandering down quaint little streets you always find some beautiful little buildings here are a few of the many we found.

I'm off to Zurich

Just getting packed for my trip to Zurich. I am looking forward to a few days relaxing and sightseeing. We are actually going to see my favourite singer Tarja (who used to be the lead singer in the band Nightwish) I am a huge Tarja fan.

Looking forward to seeing the sights of Switzerland, I have never been here before so all is new. Also hoping to visit Lucerne and judging by the pics I've seen it looks stunning.

I am a bit nervous about the food, this will be my first time travelling abroad as a Vegan so it will be a bit of a challenge, I've travelled many times before as a Vegetarian but never as a Vegan so it will be good to review it from another perspective. I think the best plan of action is stick to the Vegetarian/Vegan restraunts. I have googled Vegans in Zurich and have come up with a few eating places.

Just thought I'd share this video of Tarja with you all she's definetly worth a listen.

Now this is a Tulip Garden

Having planted up my Tulip memorial garden on Sunday I found this pic and it made me hope my Tulip garden will look as bright and cheerful as this one does, it has that real lollipop look I love with Tulips.Guess I'll have to wait until Spring to find out.

Anfields memorial garden

Todays job in my garden is always a sad one but in a few months I hope it will make me smile. Every November I plant up my beautiful little kitty's memorial garden with Tulip bulbs.

I lost my beautiful little cat Anfield 4 years ago and still miss her dreadfully, she was 11 years of age when she died of a nasal tumor, she also battled bravely with Kidney failure and High blood pressure. Throughout it all she never lost her gentleness or sweet nature.Throughout Anfields life she had to battle, she was the runt of the litter and was born with a deformed back leg, at 3 weeks old my vet didn't think she would survive, but this brave cat defied everything. It was always as though she had a purpose on earth.

The above picture was taken when she was only a few weeks old and not much bigger than a small jar of beetroot, it always melts my heart.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of he,however this post is not all doom and gloom its about remembering her, so today I will plant Tulip bulbs in the part of the garden where she is burried and hopefully in Spring next year when they are blooming I will smile and remember the bond I had with this kitty.

Both myself and Anfield loved Tulips she would always try and touch them whether they were in the garden or in the house for some reason she was always drawn to them so I always plant them in her memory.

A Winters Night

Oh the glory of a winter night
as the snow covers the ground.
The beauty silent and unspoken
such glory without a sound.

The chill in the air is brisk
winter skies are clear and bright.
You can breathe in ole man winter
as you inhale the wondrous sight.

All of nature is now quiet
You may see a deer pass by.
A redbird leaves its shelter
for the crumbs it sees nearby.

The night is cold and silent
All of creation goes to sleep
Within this glorius winter night
are warm memories we shall keep.

Autumns vanishing colour

I always get a twinge of sadness at this time of year when I see the last remaining colours in my garden fade.
I love the purple of sedum but in  few weeks it will be gone and I am left with the bareness of winter.
