Meet Luis Suarez

Having recently lost my last cat Bifford I felt emotionally very raw and didn't feel ready for a new cat, however they do say you don't choose a cat they choose you. Emotionally I may not have been ready but this little boy was, his mom abandoned him and two others at just 6 weeks old.

My mum had fostered them and casually suggested I have a peek, fatal and last night I brought home Luis Suarez and we are getting on well together.

Still feel a bit guilty like I am trying to replace Biff, hopefully this feeling will pass. Meet Luis Suarez.

I have a shutter thing going on

After my recent trip to France and Provence I have this shutter thing going on, just love the coloured shutters you see on windows in and around Provence, one day I'll have some of my own but what colour do I paint them?

French Open

I love this time of year in the Tennis Calendar at last we have the greatest clay tournament of the year, the only slam to be played on clay. Haven't had much time to blog lately been doing lots of extra shifts so I can take a bit of time off work to actually watch the Tennis.

Also in two weeks I'm heading off to London to Queens to hopefully watch Rafa warm up for Wimbledon on grass, then its off to Wimbledon it really is a hectic time of year for tennis, I'm only watching and I feel exhausted so I can only imagine how the players must feel.

I'm actually attempting to camp this year for the first time so I'm getting excited buying tents and everything.

So loving these pics coming from the French Open of Rafa man he looks so good in blue, the shade makes me think of France,Provence and the sky in Summer.

Feline portraits

A few years ago I had my two Cats portrait done by a talented Brazilian artist called Vera Lucia.I got to know Vera on a yahoo group about cats in myth and legends.Vera painted a lot of mythical stuff which I love.

Both my cats Anfield and Biff have since passed away so these potraits mean a lot to me now. The first one is of anfield.

This next one is of Biff who recently passed away, I will root out the two pictures Vera painted from and you will see the likeness.

Monte Carlo day 4

Thought it was time I finished my MC blog off.
Well after three wonderful days our last day had arrived, we had the finals of the Monte Carlo masters ahead of us, I have wanted to see Rafa play in a final for as long as I could remember and at last the day was here.

We woke up to another scorching hot day and decided to have a last quick look at Menton and the Harbour area.

We had our little daily ritual of pre match vino at our little bar before the match then headed over to the courts. Our usual posse of friends were there when we arrived so after a few nervous anti junxing cheers for rafa we headed into our seats for the match, was hoping it wasn't going to be as stressfull as the day before.

Rafa was playing David Ferrer in the final and as I like David so much I convinced myself I would be ok even if he beat Rafa today (secretly I wouldn't be, but i was trying to convince myself) It was lovely to see both players and their flags on court before the match started.

Rafa won the first set quite comfortably and started well in the second, until he got broken but after a few iffy games Rafa broke back and was soon on to his way of winning the match/I can't explain how amazing it was to see Rafa lift the trophy and do the famous trophy bite at last I had seen it.

My few days here has been a wonderful experience I definetly want to go back next year and after the match we headed off to a little irish bar we had found to watch the footy, well my team Liverpool were playing and I couldn't miss them could I? After the footy we went for a last stroll around menton to take some pics and then it was back to the appartment for quick change and onto our fave Vegan restraunt, by the end of the day I was exhausted, a little drunk but one very happy girl.

Monte Carlo day 3

Today was Semi final day at the Tennis and Rafa was playing against Andy Murray, who always manages to raise his game against Rafa so I was a bit tense and nervous today.Rafas match wasn't scheduled to start before 1.30pm so we decided to have a good look round Menton, the place we were staying. With being at the Tennis for two days we hadn't actually looked round the area properly yet.

Now Menton is very beautiful everywhere you look there is Orange and Lemon trees.

The old town of Menton is very quaint situated opposite the Harbour it really is stunning.I loved all the pastel shades the houses are painted.

I actually preffered Menton to Monte Carlo, Menton is more real it has beautiful sea views, nice restraunts and a lovely old town to browse round what more could you want on holiday?Monte Carlo is visually very beautiful but I find it all a bit fake and the obvious flaunting of wealth can be a bit shallow for me, well thats my personal opinion.

After a leisurely stroll we soon decided we had better get to the Tennis. We didn't have much time to spare when we got there just enough to say a quick hi to some friends by then we heard David Ferrer had won the other semi final so that was one final place confirmed it was now up to Rafa to make it two spaniards into the finals.I had already spotted some of my friends in the crowd with their Rafa flags, Rafa seemed to have a lot of fans in the house today.

Just as I imagined a very tense match Rafa took the first set easy enough but then Andy played a really good set in which Rafa struggled eventually losing it, by then I was literally hiding my head :-(
Of course never ever doubt Rafa he flew into an early lead in the second and comfortably took the 3rd set to win the match, I was so relieved I had never seen Rafa play in a final I was getting my dream after all.Tomorrow I get to see Rafa in a final against David Ferrer.
