RIP Bifford

This is a hard post for me to write, today I lost my beautiful orange boy Bifford Biff for short, I am heartbroken at this moment in time but I didn't want the day to pass without acknowledging his beautiful spirit.

Biff first entered my life 11 years ago he was five then and I discovered he was neglected by a local family who used to kick him and abuse him he had little or no faith in humanity and who could blame him?

I approached the family when I discovered they were moving and I asked them if I could have him they replied I couldn't but they would sell him to me, what the helI bought him and never looked back.It took a number of years for Biff to settle but once we gained his trust we never looked back.

Over the years Biff started to love his home especially his garden, whenever we were out so was he.He was very territorial about his space and sent many a cat on their way.

Five years ago I lost another beautiful cat Anfield to renal failure and a nasal tumour I couldn't believe it when Biff was diagnosed with the same problem, luckily I learnt a lot from Anfields illness and I knew what we were dealing with.We managed his illness for nearly five years but since Christmas his weight has fell off him.

He was at the vets six weeks ago on a drip for 24 hours and seemed to have improved but over the weekend he stopped eating and his back legs started giving out on him, deep down I knew his time was nearing and we spent a last day together yesterday and he slept with us on our bed last night as he had always done.

We took him to the vets this morning where he had all his bloods redone and of course they come back through the roof and we knew we could no longer let him suffer, towards the end of his life Biff had lost his hearing and had arthritis along with gum disease and liver failure so as hard as it was we had to admit his quality of life had gone and we had to let him go.

Today has been hard and my home feels empty without him, I miss him so much I just wanted to share this beautiful boy with you all.

Busy week (again)

Once again I'm on catch up with my blog, where do people find the time to blog daily? Weather this week has been spring like so I made the most of it and ventured into the garden to tidy up after the winter, already so many plants are waking up a beautiful sight to see.I haven't seen my Hedgehogs yet but am hoping they made it through the winter.

I had Thursday/Friday off and still had no time on my hands, on Thursday I went into Manchester to shop for some new clothes for my trip to Monte Carlo which is only three weeks away I can't believe it I am so excited.

I got myself a new bright red Mac which I have wanted for ages, a couple of light cardigans, some new jeans and shoes so I'm good to go.

I probably have bored you all to death with the reason for my trip to Monte Carlo but I'll mention it again lol. I am going for the Tennis hoping to see Rafa Nadal lift the Monte Carlo Masters title again, this is the view I am dying to see, notice all the wonderful clay Tennis courts.

Actually Rafa is also the reason I have such a hectic week I have been getting up in the middle of the night to watch his matches at Indian Wells California this week, the time zones are killing me, but he's worth it.

The rest of my Sunday is busy with housework, ironing, cooking oh and I've a football match to get in and watch Rafa in the Tennis finals in the evening, definitely think I'm ready for a holiday.

Mother Nature have we angered you?

Mother Nature I would never question your wisdom or judgement, but sometimes I feel we have angered you somehow. I know we have disappointed you in how we treat our earth, we have caused global warming,we have massacred the Rain Forests, we bull doze our way through natural habitats but I ask you not to desert us and rage at us.

Today's images of the Japanese eartquake are frightening just like all the other disasters we have had over the last few years, from floods to earthquakes your anger knows no bounds. Please Mother Earth be gentle on us and your people thoughts and prayers to all the people in Japan today and maybe we can ask Mother Nature for her blessing.

Oscar Dresses

Finally getting round to do some blogging, time has been hectic of late, work, trying to get to Yoga classes, family stuff etc. I sometimes wish the world would stop as I want to get off, but hey that's life guess you have to live it to the max.

So back to the blog, finally caught up with the Oscars, so pleased The Kings Speech picked up it just deserts.Colin Firth really deserved his Oscar as did Natalie Portman.

The next favourite thing of the Oscars is of course 'The dresses' there is always someone who stands out and yes one or two disasters. My personal faves are the classy ones I think Oscar dresses should compliment the actress and not become the main focus, these sort of dresses have a timeless quality and I think the following dresses are beautiful and compliment the wearers perfectly.
